Meet Phil

NICE TO MEET YOU!

My dharma – mission in yoga - is to help anyone I can, to better their lives through this practice, including men, a rarity in the hundreds of yoga classes that I’ve attended.

200-hr RYT; 300 RYT Training completing 2024

Actively participating in several sports over the years including basketball, water skiing, snow skiing, tennis and running, Phil’s injuries had added up. At one point he had severe issues with his neck, lower back (sciatica), shoulders and knees, and was receiving chiropractic care several times a week. Phil’s chiropractor recommended yoga.

Phil joined Thrive Yoga nearly 10 years ago as a student and began practicing several times a week. His chiropractor lost him as a client! After his restorative yoga teachers healed him, Phil fell in love with power vinyasa yoga, calling it fondly, “The whole meal deal - - providing the healing of mind and body from yoga, and the cardio health from vinyasa, breath and movement.”

Phil completed his 200-hour vinyasa teacher training in 2022 at Parallel 45 Yoga in Vancouver, WA and started teaching immediately. He loves teaching yoga and helping others to achieve better mind and body health. He’s completing his 300-hour alignment-based teacher training with Rachel Lundberg. In Phil’s words, “My dharma – mission in yoga is to help anyone I can, to better their lives through this practice, including men, a rarity in the hundreds of yoga classes that I’ve attended.”

Phil’s other interests include hanging out with his family, traveling, hiking, jogging, singing and playing guitar. By special request, Phil will be happy to serenade you during savasana.
