Discussing Death

  • Thrive Yoga & wellness (map)

Death is grim, in this culture. Most folks don't want to talk about it, or when they do it comes with fear or even guilt. However, death doesn't need to be thought of as this ultimate end of all things. It can actually be celebrated, valued, and understood on a more personal level to allow us to let those we love pass with ease, and to find more joy in our own lives. Join Sage, death doula and Thrive yoga instructor, for this moderated & free-flowing discussion on death. Maybe you have first-hand experience with death and dying, or maybe it's something you're just starting to wrap your head around. This conversation will be compassionate and community-oriented, so the topic doesn't feel so big and overwhelming. Discussion topics may include creating ritual around death, grief, legacy building, spirituality and maintaining or re-envisioning relationship with the dead and dying. Our discussion will close with a short (20-30minute) death meditation led by Sage. This is a free event open to anyone and everyone. Donations will be accepted at the end to aid Sage's work in death and benefit the Thrive community.
