200-ERYT, YACP, Health & Wellness Coach and owner of Thrive, Marci brings her education and life experience to her students. Marci's bachelor degree in psychology and masters degree in exercise science and health promotion give her a unique understanding of the mental, emotional, and physical benefits of yoga.
Marci has seen the benefits of yoga in her life both physically and mentally. She was able to use the practice of yoga and mindfulness to overcome and deal with an anxiety disorder that was taking the joy from her life.
Marci's passion is to empower other women both on and off the mat. She believes that woman are stronger than they often realize and loves helping others tap into their power through her teaching and coaching.
Marci especially loves working with students dealing with stress and anxiety, physical limitations and pain; to help them discover the tools they need to THRIVE!
Having co-taught two prior Yoga Teacher Trainings at Thrive, Marci fell in love with watching YTT students blossom into confident and competent yoga teachers. One of the most amazing things is how this confidence carries over to other aspects of the trainees's lives! She is inspired by the community and lasting friendships that teacher training creates.
Matthew Rogers, PT,DPT
Matt grew up in Oregon City, OR and was valedictorian and captain of the football and track teams at Oregon City High School. He then attended the University of Oregon graduating in 2006 with a BS in Human Physiology. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in 2009. In 2011, he graduated from the APTA Orthopaedic Residency Program, and became a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist. In 2013, he became a Board Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. He specializes in manual therapy, sports and orthopaedic rehabilitation and the ASTYMT system. Matt also utilizes the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) program which helps diagnose movement impairments for people of all levels. He is passionate about injury prevention, community outreach, and working with a team of experts in providing quality care.
Matt is also the founder and race director for A Race for Grace, a road race in Wilsonville, OR that raises money for non-profit organizations including Grace Chapel church and Living Water International, an organization that brings water to remote areas of the world. Matt is married to his high school sweetheart Amanda, has three daughters and he enjoys hiking, camping, running, golf and playing basketball.
Suzanne Mills RYT
Suzanne started on this path of yoga nearly 20 years ago at a class in a gym while in college. After trying many styles of yoga in a variety of places she found her early teacher at an Iyengar studio in San Diego. Within a few years she said to her husband, “I am going to teach yoga someday.” After driving long hours to and from Portland studios, she found Rachel Lundberg. Rachel shared her goal to teach teachers someday and Suzanne vowed to be in her first group of trainees. She completed her RYT-200 training in the inaugural cohort of the Lundberg Yoga Teacher Training Program.
Yoga has been a place to come home to and Suz is amazed to have finally come to the place to begin sharing it as a teacher. She is a dedicated student of alignment-based asana that seeks to connect the mind to the body and respectfully ease the body toward the balanced range of motion it was designed for. She doesn’t believe you should shove your body toward what you think it should do but that you should hold its hand and supportively guide its journeys toward healthier places.
An Oregonian by choice and the mother of a 5 year old native, Suzanne and her husband, Marty, fled the state below about 10 years ago and landed in Oregon City 9 years ago. She has been seeking her community and is happy to notice it expanding all around her. She reports that her new 10-15 year goal is to sew all her own clothes. In her free time she gardens, kayaks, camps, dances, and hoops with her family and is reportedly learning to sew…
Kimi Marin RYT
Kimi Marin, a Portland-based yoga teacher, helps people find clarity in their mind, body and spirit. She guides students through their practice by riding the waves of breath, energetically aligning breath and body.
Kimi has a master’s degree in literature, and loves to combine the power of stories with yoga. She often weaves the myths and stories about various poses into the class. Her transformative Yogic Lore Flow workshops are a fun combination of stories, asana, meditation, and muda.
Kimi’ was featured in Portland Monthly Magazine, Origin Magazine’s Inspire Series, and was the featured ambassador for Ahnu Footwear June 2013. Her writing is published on several online sites including Yoganonymous and BeYogi.
Jordan loves teaching yoga because it puts us in a constant state of inquiry and self reflection. Every subtle change made in the body throughout a physical practice can encourage a negative or positive perspective on things beyond our control. It wasn't until he was given the time and space to break down the details and subtleties of each pose that his determination and tenacity towards yoga became inspired. Jordan believes that the true practice of yoga motivates us to be compassionate to ourselves and other beings. He teaches alignment in form, breath centered movement, self inquiry, modifications and variations with ancient methodology and collectively educational classes that create healing practices dedicated to the individual.
Jordan recieved his 500 hour TTC and aspires to travel where yoga is rooted in culture and learn from the beautiful communities that live more simply. Shortly after receiving his first certification in hatha/Iyengar, he studied yoga therapeutics, practices of breath based movement, pranayama, and meditation in Thailand.
